GUINNESS WORLD RECORD HOLDER
In 1984, Dave Romeo caught 3,001 largemouth bass in 77 days of fishing. This established a new Guinness World Record for the most bass caught in a season, and remains unbroken to this day.
Dave was fishing on Long Island, NY and several places in Florida when he established this record. The record was authenticated by the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation (by verifying Romeo’s 13 detailed fishing diaries, local fishing television video coverage, and 18 credible witnesses).
In addition, between 1982 and 2007 Dave Romeo caught, recorded, released more than 25,000 black bass in 25 years—averaging over 1,000 bass per year every year for a quarter of a century!
25,000 BASS IN 25 YEARS, IT'S TRUE!
When I began bass fishing in 1981, I was really terrible. I only caught 39 bass all year but I decided to record my results and track my progress. Within 3 years, I caught 800 bass in 88 days! Encouraged, I decided to keep track of every fishing expedition. I recorded the locations, dates, lures and sizes of the bass I caught.
The results—I caught more than 25,000 bass between 1982 and 2007. It changed my life forever. I went from being a shy, insecure, introvert to running my own Bass Fishing Tournament business, authoring books, doing television appearances, designing lures and DVDs, and eventually becoming a national motivational speaker.
Not only did tracking that information help me establish a Guinness World Record—I also learned how to turn the many lessons I learned while bass fishing into valuable lessons that I share with my seminar and coaching clients.
